Grasshopper Program 2020

Players born 2015 and 2016

We do not have a Return to Play (RTP) plan at this time. We are meeting frequently over the next few weeks and we’ll keep you posted accordingly.

Official health and safety regulations are changing weekly. Here’s what we can confirm.

  • Player and community health and safety is the first priority.
  • We must have site/field safety plans approved and followed for each venue/field. Our plans follow CalNorth guidelines.
  • CalNorth guidelines specify:
    --A staged approach to RTP.
    --About 3 weeks between stages
--Stage 1 starts with no contact/low risk.
--The stages progress to stage 4 with full contact/high risk games and play.
--Coaches either stay on the sidelines during practice or become part of the team bubble and only coach that team.
--Teams are a bubble of up to 12 humans and said humans can only be on one team. For example, 2 coaches, 10 players.
--Players won’t wear masks while exercising.

Send any feedback you have to the club at this email.

Come along and join in the FUN packed sessions where your child will learn correct soccer technique through fun games in a safe and friendly environment. When and where do Grasshoppers play?
Grasshoppers practice 1x a week and have game-like sessions on Saturdays during the regular fall soccer season and will run for approximately 9 weeks. There will be no sessions on Labor Day weekend. In the event of a rain out, additional sessions may be added at the end of the 10 weeks. The Grasshopper sessions will take place at a CVUSD site to be determined. Specific dates and times will be published after player registration is complete.

What happens at a typical Grasshopper Session?
Age and gender specific Grasshopper teams of 8-10 players will be pre-assigned specific one-hour time slots. For the first 20 minutes of the session, 24-7 UK Soccer Academy staff will lead the Grasshopper coaches and players in fun drills designed to improve the players’ ability with the ball and introduce the basic concepts of the game. The last 35 minutes will consist of a small-sided game between pre-formed Grasshopper teams, where players and coaches will get a chance to put their new skills into play. For further information on 24-7 UK Soccer Academy visit their website at www.24-7uksocceracademy.com

What happens if it rains on a Grasshopper Session day?
Check our website for Field Status in the morning for any field closures. CVSC also has field status text alerts and you can follow this link to SIGN UP FOR TEXT MESSAGE ALERTS!

Can I play with a buddy?
