Congratulations to our U10 2008B Green Team and Coach Alex King - capturing the Norcal Region 3/4 Silver 1 2017 Spring League Title. The boys played some great soccer; always working hard and passing the ball around really well which has helped the team create a number of good chances and score over 50 goals during the spring season. The boys had lots of fun together and we are all excited about seeing them play at the Gold level in the fall.
State cup thriller and success! Our U12B 2005 Yellow Team with coach Alex King won a hard fought championship game scoring a deserved equalizer with less than a minute to go in regulation to take the game to penalties. The boys then kept their nerve and prevailed 4-2 in PK. What an exciting game and great end for their 2016 season it was - very well done boys!
Congratulations to our CVM Academy 04 Boys and coach Dave Barrett on a perfect fall season. The team won 10 out of 10 games in the NorCal Region 3/4 PREMIER Division! The team also qualified for the Nor Cal State Premier bracket and will battling it out with the top 32 teams come January. What a great achievement for this academy team and the coach in their first season together - very well done boys!
State Cup SHOUT-OUT to our U13 2004 Girls who clinched a tight final to become 2016 state cup champions in the Gold 3 division. In a game that lacked any clear cut opportunities it was Castro Valley that would be able to find the back of the net, with the only goal of the game coming 4 minutes from time from Charlotte Caistor off a corner kick. The team’s defensive stability has been the basis of their success this year and they were able to hold on for the win, giving them shut outs in their quarter, semi, and final games. This is a huge achievement for the girls and the club, coaches, and parents are extremely proud of the them. Keep up the good work!
HUGE Congratulations to the CVSC U16 2001 Girls Green team on a great showing during the NPL Fall Showcase in Davis the weekend of November 19 & 20! With just six points separating first and seventh place in the NPL2 division heading into the weekend, coach Garry Agnew's Girls leapfrogged Vision Academy to top the table and earn the only NPL 1 spot from their division for the spring. They cleared the way with a decisive 7-1 victory over San Ramon NPL on Saturday - goals by Tanya Brouse (5 of them!), Elma Sabanovic and Yasmeen White. Followed by a division title-clinching 1-0 win over De Anza Force North on Sunday - winning goal scored by Ava Marrama. Wonderful job girls, we are very proud of you! CV You Know!!
Congratulations to our U14 2003 Girls Team who finished in first place in their Norcal Silver Fall league campaign going undefeated, scoring 46 goals along the way, and only conceding 6.The girls finished level on points with 2 other teams but managed to take first place due to their superior goal difference. The team has shown huge improvements and their coaches and parents are extremely proud of their achievements. Well done girls, keep up the good work.
Congratulations to our 2007 White Boys team and coach Connor Thornton who won their State Cup Bracket this past weekend. The boys played some great soccer and put up an excellent team effort already in their first elimination game; coming back from a 2-0 deficit with only 15 minutes left to still win the game. In the championship they found themselves down again by a goal two times, against a very good Mill Valley team, but they never gave up and eventually took the lead that they were able to hold on to. These boys have improved continuously over the season, both individually and as a team, and they all gave their very best in these final games.
Congratulations to our U9 Girls Green team. The 2008 girls finished their 2016 season off in remarkable style by winning the Premier 3 State Cup with a 3-0 finals win over Pleasanton Rage Premier. The team had fought hard throughout the tournament and had won their semi final in overtime the day before.
The week before the team had also secured 1st place in their Norcal region 3/4 Silver Elite Fall League with a record of 7-1-0; scoring 33 goals along the way.
It was a truly fun season for the girls and we are excited to see what the future holds for this group of players.
The following girls play for the 2008 girls team: Evie Halverson, Claire Lowery, Daniela Perez, Kaya Bullard, Madison Lew, Malia Robinson, Olivia Villegas, Abby Forsgren, Andrea Alonso and Krystie Gomes
The team is coach by Andy Hulbert and Meg Forsgren.

These Zombie Girls KILLED IT on the field showing NO MERCY in their 4 wins including a 4-1 finish in the final championship game vs a very strong team from Impact that usually plays up in the U9 age group. What a fun rainy weekend it was. Very good job girls!!
Our U11B (2006) Green Team performed excellently this past weekend at the Dublin Fall Classic taking second place. Having won their 3 group games scoring 13 goals and only giving up 2, they had a heartbreaking loss on PK’s in the final after the game finished 2-2 after overtime. The boys have shown significant improvements and made both their coaches and parents proud. Well done boys!
Congratulations to our U11G (2006) Yellow team - champion in their group at the 2016 Footie Fest. They won by the narrow margin of one point in this group of 5 (round robin style). It was a very exciting group with the top three teams finishing with the exact same 2-1-1 record and the girls secured their number one spot in the last game with a 4:0 shutout to give them the extra points needed. What a great effort by these girls!

They won their bracket in the group phase to advance to the final which they narrowly lost 1:2. Great effort by all these girls - we are proud of you!

Castro Valley Soccer Club is proud to announce that Suhani Abdullah has been honored as the USYSA Area 4 Female Youth Referee of the Year. Area 4 is comprised of the 13 western states and Suhani is #1 in our part of the world!
Suhani began playing soccer at age 8 and began refereeing in 2011 at age 14. Starting on the touchlines as an Assistant Referee, she was promoted to Center Referee her first year. Early on, she demonstrated by her calls, confidence and grace on the pitch, a talent for refereeing we have all admired. As she was assigned matches of increasing competitiveness with older youth, she began to draw the attention of referee assignors around the area. In 2015, she received the Female Youth Referee of the Year for CYSA Region 4 of Northern California, and earlier this year, was honored as Female Youth Referee of California. Throughout this time, Suhani has been a wonderful mentor and friend to many younger and newer youth referees--part of the referee ethos, "to help others as I have been helped."
As her abilities have developed and become known, she has been invited to referee in soccer tournaments throughout the west, including in Alaska, Idaho, Colorado, Arizona and southern California. And she has attracted the attention of those who train referees for the higher level assignments. Not to mention that she has already earned a grade 7 referee license.
Suhani is currently a sophomore at UC Berkeley reading Economics and Math. She looks forward to becoming a grade 6 referee in 2017, and in the meantime, increase her skills on the pitch.
And, what's it like to referee? Quoting Suhani, "...refereeing has been the absolute best job I could ask for. I get to work in a high-pressure environment that changes every single game, which is really exciting and fun for me. I've also met some of the coolest people and made some fantastic friends along the way, from Castro Valley all to way to..." [Editor left the last place word out, because Suhani hasn't stopped meeting cool new people in cool new places.]
Suhani---Congratulations from all your friends, your fellow referees and everyone at CVSC. Well done!
The CV United 2005 Girls Green U12 team had a great weekend at their 2016 Spring Cal Cup tournament. They made it to the finals with 2 wins and 1 tie. The Championship game that followed was a real nail-biter: Tied after regulation they went into over time, still tied after two more goals, and ultimately they lost it in PKs. The girls put in a great performance and it was a very exciting weekend for all of them. Congratulations to the players and coaches. CV you know!
Our Castro Valley-Montclair (CVM) Academy 04 Boys ended a successful 2016 spring season by making it to the semi finals of NorCal's Cross Regionals. This is a tournament for the top 8 teams from all Northern California's Premier regions!
After taking taking 2nd place in region 3/4 Premier division the team then won a 1/4 final match up against Santa Rosa in a 4-2 thriller. Angel Fernandez leading the team to victory with his 3rd hat trick of the season. The team unfortunately fell short in a tense semi final with the eventual Champions Davis. The 24-7 coaching staff, CVSC and MSC are very proud of the boys and it's a very impressive start to the teams first season together.
Congratulations CVM Academy 04 Boys.

The Scramble's 13th year brought sweltering heat and some fierce competition to San Ramon this last weekend. Down two players to injury, the Speed Demons battled but lost to the finalist from last year, Livermore Blue Flames, by the score of 2-1 in a back-and-forth match. Both teams showed off superb passing games, great team defense and keepr play in a game that could have gone either way. The game winner was scored on a free kick just outside the 18 with under 10 minutes in the match.
The Speed Demons defeated a talented Pleasanton Renegades team in the opener and played to a 0-0 tie in the second game against last years Champion, San Ramon Boomers. The Speed Demons closed out group play with a 4-2 victory over Livermore Fusion to reach the finals.

FREMONT, CA - The Castro Valley Soccer Club U13 D1 Green girls team won the Mission Valley HK Shoot-Out on Sunday, Sept. 26 in dominating fashion. Securing their 2nd tournament championship in four weeks, United won all 4of their games, scoring a total of 16 goals, while conceding only 1. The girls stayed committed to attractive attacking soccer and were justly rewarded with significant possession of the ball, as the games were predominantly contested in their opponents" half of the field. Sunday morning saw the girls outplay Mission Valley by a 5-0 margin, which represented the first defeat of the season for the host team.
